Stealing From the Fire Victims: Rebuild North Bay (After the Fire USA)

  • Being that Supervisor Gore has not been clearly transparent with his finances, I have concerns regarding the appointments to the Executive positions at Rebuild North Bay, recently renamed as After the Fire USA. His wife, Elizabeth Mckee Gore is the previous President of this organization. 
    • I have questions regarding the qualifications of the current Treasurer, Henry Hansel since he has an abundance of outstanding UCC filings. Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) filings allow creditors to notify other creditors about a debtor's assets used as collateral for a secured transaction.
    • Brian Bottari currently serves as a Board Director for Rebuild North Bay and also as a Board Director for United Way of the Wine Country. Rebuild North Bay (renamed as After the Fire) holds an official partnership & receives monetary donations from United Way of Wine Country. Bottari currently influences political endorsements and expenditures as chair of the Santa Rosa Metro Chamber’s Political Action Committee and as a member of the Sonoma County Alliance’s Political Action Committee. He was previously employed as PG&E’s North Bay public affairs manager (I had to chuckle).
    • Lisa Carreno is also a Board Member of Los Cien, United Way Wine Country and Rebuild North Bay (Los Cien also donated to Rebuild North Bay). 
    • Veteran lobbyist for PG&E, owner of all major media within the County and childhood friend of Governor Newsom, Darius Anderson founded this organization...enough said (again, I had to chuckle).
    • Darnell Bowen is the current Controller for Hello Alice, Elizabeth Gore's company (that James Gore omitted from his Form 700 until caught up in the media) & the Treasurer of local non-profit Nuestra Comunidad, Windsor. The Chief Executive Officer of Nuestra Comunidad is Alma Bowen (Darnell's wife). Nuestra Comunidad donated $33k to Rebuild North Bay (Elizabeth Gore's organization that was also omitted from James Gore's Form 700) for "Spanish videos for COVID-19 response". 
      • Darnell Bowen has served as the Financial Analyst at O'Reilly Media, founded by Sebastopol's Tim O'Reilly. Tim is a close associate of Governor Newsom and serves alongside him via a group of more than 50 leaders "committed to advancing strategies to help Americans succeed in today's rapidly changing world" via Markle's Rework America Alliance. The Web 2.0 Summit (originally known as the Web 2.0 Conference) was an annual event, held in San Francisco, California from 2004 to 2011, that featured discussions about the World Wide Web. The event was started by Tim O'Reilly, who is also widely credited with popularizing the term "Web 2.0". It was organized by O'Reilly's company, O'Reilly Media, with O'Reilly and journalist/entrepreneur John Battelle serving as co-moderators. The Web 2.0 Summit was an invitation-only event and featured many of the most prominent entrepreneurs and thinkers of the web community. The 2008 Web 2.0 Summit was held November 5–7, 2008 at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco. The theme was "Web Meets World". Speakers included Edgar Bronfman, Jr., Al Gore, Arianna Huffington, Vinod Khosla, Max Levchin, Gavin Newsom, Evan Williams, Jerry Yang and Mark Zuckerberg.
      • I found it interesting that Ms. Bowen essentially quit her 20-year career as an emergency dispatcher overnight to found this organization. Being that Ms. Bowen was responsible for taking calls for police, fire, or ambulance assistance, and dispatching emergency personnel and vehicles, she held extensive insight regarding the trajectory of the wildfires
    • After further reviewing the grants received in 2019 from Rebuild North Bay, the conflict of interest has become even more apparent. 
    • Rebuild North Bay was under investigation in November, 2019 for functioning more as a lobbyist than a disaster relief group. It seems these folks have established a circle to donate to themselves rather than provide a community service.
  • Some of the partners of this organization were of concern as well. The non-profit has received substantial monetary donations from Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors who is composed of several directors from the Rockefeller Family. Being that the Rockefeller Family destroyed natural medicine, and created Western Medicine for profit, I am not a huge fan. This same family patented the COVID-19 tests, the COVID-19 spike protein, etc. several years prior to the pandemic.
  • I noted that Executive Committee Member of After the Fire, Michael Mondavi is the son of Robert G. Mondavi, a spokesman for wine and winemaking in the late twentieth century. I found it interesting that Robert Mondavi worked with Baron Philippe de Rothschild to launch the Opus One joint venture. I was not aware that the Rothschild Family owned a winery in Napa County, but the corruption has become comical at this point.
